Skin. Soul. Systems.
A Love Letter To Women Who Do It All
Have you ever noticed how much more capable you feel when your skin is glowing, your thoughts are grounded, and your week actually has some structure?
This week, I want to share something personal: the story of how I went from thinking skincare was an unnecessary luxury… to realising it is one of the most radical, powerful acts of self-love a woman can give herself.
✨ Skin — The Confidence You Can See
Before I discovered the skincare I use now, I had very little interest in it. I believed that going to salons or spending money on serums was part vanity, part indulgence, not for someone like me.
I was health-focused, disciplined with supplements and workouts, and used an R50 pot of beeswax as a moisturiser and a store-bought cleanser with silicone beads to “deep clean.” I honestly thought I was doing well.
Then one day, a friend offered to give me a skin experience using one of her devices. She even said, “Tans, your skin is already so good, I don’t know if we’ll see much of a difference.”
Well, we did.
Within minutes of her leaving, I was online ordering. And so began a journey, not just into skincare but into reclaiming time and attention for myself, into choosing rituals that nourish, affirm, and elevate.
It started with mornings. I was already washing my face, so adding one or two extra steps felt easy. Evenings took longer. I still get lazy, tired, and distracted. Though I’ve learned this:
> Taking care of your skin is not just about money, it’s about time.
> It’s about the small moments we spend nurturing ourselves, touching our own skin with intention, and being present in the mirror, not to fix but to affirm.
For many women, busy, loving, ambitious women, time is the one thing we’re least willing to give ourselves.
We put our own needs at the bottom of the queue. We justify it by saying that money or energy is better spent elsewhere. Over time, without meaning, we start to fade. A little here. A little there. Until one day we realise we’ve become strangers to our own reflection.
Not anymore.
Today, my skincare routine is a non-negotiable. It’s a silent rebellion against burnout, invisibility, and self-neglect.
It’s not vanity. It’s not anti-ageing fear. It’s a daily reminder that I matter.
And when I feel beautiful, not from makeup or filters but from real care, I show up stronger in every part of my life, as a wife, a speaker, a leader, and as ME!
These days, I wear almost no makeup. Just mascara, a bit of lip gloss, and translucent powder on hot days. The world sees my real face, and I love it.
I don’t use the most expensive products on the planet either. I use science-backed formulas that work, products that give me real results and a routine that supports me, not burdens me.
What I have learned is that skincare is mindset work in disguise. Every time I look in the mirror and say, “I love you. I see you.” I become a little more of the woman I was meant to be.
If any part of my journey resonated with you, if you’ve ever looked in the mirror and wished you could see more vitality, more YOU, I invite you to take the first step. I’ve created a free Skin Confidence Score quiz to help you better understand your relationship with your skin and discover the simple shifts that can bring back your natural glow. (Hint: it's about more than using products!)

🧠 Soul — The Identity Shift That Changes Everything
If you’ve been playing small, putting everyone else first, or stuck in the cycle of doing without becoming, it’s time to shift. This week on YouTube, I’m diving into: 🎥 “Why You’re Stuck Playing Small in Life or Business”
It’s real. It’s short. And it’s a perspective shift that might be just what you need right now.

🗂️ Systems — Because Structure Is Self-Respect
Here’s the thing about skincare: It taught me that how I treat myself in small ways affects how I show up in bigger ways, too.
When I began making time for myself in the bathroom mirror, I noticed I could make time for myself in my calendar.
When I stopped rushing through my evenings, I stopped rushing through my goals.
When I stopped hiding behind foundation, I stopped hiding in business meetings too.
The shift didn’t stop with skin; it rippled out into every system in my life.
That is the work we do inside The Freedom Collective.
If you are building something meaningful, a business, a dream, a new identity and crave structure that supports your success without suffocating your soul, this space was created for you.
You do not need to earn rest.
You do not need to prove your worth through exhaustion.
You do not need to sacrifice your well-being to build something great.
You DO need the right system, one that aligns with who you are becoming.
