IDENTITY. BEHAVIOUR. PERFORMANCE.

What determines the gap between human potential and human performance?

A leader knows the team needs more ownership, yet keeps stepping in. An organisation calls for innovation, yet rewards people for protecting established ways of working. A founder plans a handover, yet remains the person every decision depends on.

Knowledge and strategy matter. So do the identity agreements people have learned to live by: the often unspoken instructions about who they must be to remain valued, credible or secure.

Tania examines what those agreements protect, what they cost, and the capabilities that can be carried forward as leadership and organisations evolve. Identity offers a powerful lens on performance alongside skills, resources, incentives and the realities of the business.

Two decades of speaking. A perspective grounded in practice.

20 years

Speaking to audiences in South Africa and internationally.

25 to 2,000

Approximately, from smaller professional gatherings to conference audiences.

On stage and online

Keynotes, webinars, workshops and leadership offsites.

Recent engagements include Gray Feather Consulting’s HR Directors Community of Practice,  ICF Portugal webinar, and opening keynote for approximately 300 women entrepreneurs in South Africa.

One body of work. Four conversations.

Each keynote applies an identity-centred perspective to a distinct leadership or business challenge. Content is shaped around your audience, event theme and the questions your organisation needs to examine.

KEYNOTE 01

The Identity Ceiling

When past success limits the next stage of leadership

A leader can grow in responsibility while remaining attached to being the expert, the rescuer or the person who never disappoints. This keynote examines how identity agreements shape authority, delegation and decisions under pressure.

Audiences reconsider what their next stage requires, what they fear losing when they step away from familiar roles, and where a different response can begin.

Particularly relevant for: Executive conferences, founders, senior leadership teams and entrepreneurial communities.

KEYNOTE 02

Culture Is Collective Identity

What is your organisation unintentionally reinforcing?

An organisation can ask for change while continuing to reward the behaviours that keep it as it is. This keynote examines culture through collective identity: shared expectations about who belongs, what earns recognition and how people are expected to operate.

Audiences learn to recognise the gap between declared ambition and everyday reinforcement, and reconsider what leaders reward, tolerate and model.

Particularly relevant for: Transformation events, HR and organisational development forums, leadership offsites and corporate conferences.

KEYNOTE 03

Beyond the Succession Plan

When leadership changes hands, identity changes too

A transition can redistribute responsibility without resolving what leadership, belonging or legacy means to the people involved. This keynote explores founder identity, successor legitimacy and the collective identity of the family enterprise.

Audiences reconsider the human stakes beneath a handover and the conversations needed when authority, ownership and family roles overlap.

Particularly relevant for: Founder transitions, family enterprise events and family business or family office leadership networks.

KEYNOTE 04

The Skill Beneath the Strategy™

Keep the capability. Reconsider what it protects.

Self-sabotage is often self-protection. An executive who constantly anticipates everyone else’s needs may be protecting an identity built around being indispensable. Beneath that costly strategy can sit a valuable learned skill: the capacity to notice subtle signals and respond effectively.

This keynote explores the skill beneath an identity-preservation strategy. Audiences reconsider how they can retain what they have learned while changing the agreement that makes the behaviour feel compulsory.

Particularly relevant for: leadership development events, high-performing professionals, founders and people development communities.

Recognition that makes people reconsider.

Tania brings real-life examples, humour and direct questions to complex ideas. Her work invites audiences to recognise themselves in the decisions they make and the expectations they reinforce, then consider a practical response they can take into their leadership.

Keynotes can include audience reflection and Q&A. Workshops and offsites create more space to explore the identity agreements at work within a team or organisation. In-person and virtual delivery are available; the format, timing and focus are agreed around your event.

Tania lifted the room from the moment she arrived and held the audience throughout. Her blend of real-life experience, humour and clear philosophy made the session both enjoyable and genuinely inspiring.  Club 100

Tania is refreshing, straightforward, and a pleasure to work with. She tailors her message to the room and delivers in a relaxed, conversational style that captures and holds attention. She comes across as genuinely grounded in real experience, so the message never feels like ‘flavour-of-the-month’ motivation. I look forward to hearing her again, this time with a very different audience. Jane Pryce
